Seksound is releasing a set of recordings not yet heard in the form of an album. Recorded and mixed between 1997 and 1998, Bizarre Necro is the third full-length album under the Seksound label. Ten tracks in total, a few of the songs from the release appeared on compilations throughout the years while others have yet to be heard by fans. Bizarre Necro will be released on June 4th in both digital and limited-edition vinyl formats. You can pre-order it here!
Never wanting to be pegged as a shoegaze or dreampop band, Bizarre always experimented with electronics and various writing structures during the life of the band. Necro demonstrates Bizarre’s elasticity as the tracks move from shoegaze and dreampop infused moments to dance permeated beats and ambient textures. Eclectic yet still sounding like the same band, from the wistful vocals of “Never Ever” to the funk infused “International Love Affair”, Necro demonstrates the versatility of this foundational group.
Bizarre’s catalog has become historically important for the genres and now Seksound is unearthing these tracks and filling new gaps in the Estonian scene’s musical record.
Seksound proudly presents Eoins´debut album “Rites” by the frontman of the now gone Estonian post-punk band lack of Eoins.
The new eclectic album features songs in various genres characterized by restless rhythmic and harmonic convolution. Deriving influences from post-punk and folk to bedroom electronica, Eoins makes use of a broad range of musical characters and professional capabilities while remaining true to the lo-fi/ everyday aesthetics of its earlier days as lack of Eoins.
Seksound has already released three digital singles from the album: “Sudden Death Mode” (buy here), “What the Future Holds” (buy here) and “Shiver & Shrug” (buy here). These tracks will be accompanied by seven brand new tracks on “Rites”.
The new album is available in CD and digital formats. Order your copy here!!

Seksound invites you to trip to the mountains of Pia Fraus! Brand new video for the wondrous and ambient track “Mountain Trip Guide” by Pia Fraus is out now. It is directed and edited by the former Pia Fraus drummer Joosep Volk.
“The song’s atmosphere is interpersonal, resonating a familiarity and tranquil mood. The song is full of luscious sounds, painting imagery that feels remote, almost isolating. Pia Fraus entertain the idea of feeling abandoned by yourself in such stunning areas, even if that area is within the depths of yourself. “Mountain Trip Guide” is sure to bring a formidable emotion to the forefront of one’s life. The song now has an accompanying music video, which can be seen below. “Mountain Trip Guide” is off of Pia Fraus’ recent record Field Ceremony” New Noise Magazine
“This one has got much of its inspiration from Scottish mountains and trips to Scotland we’ve made with our friends and bandmates. I like that, in the end, this song that had started off from almighty nature, gained an even erotic undertone. It has some hazyness, overwhelmingness, a feeling that you’ve got lost in the mountains or simply in your own feelings.” – Pia Fraus

The former lack of Eoins, a post-punk band from Viljandi, who released their debut album “Echo Group” nine years ago, has now become Eoins to surprise us with their new single “What The Future Holds” released today under our own Seksound label.
In 2008, Siim Nestor wrote about lack of Eoins debut album: “[—] lack of Eoins defies the logical way of listening, their tracks are not static but keep transforming, stretching in all directions, doing all that without deceptive ambition,” and defined their genre as art-rock and art-indie.
The new track under the new name might be seen as marking a move towards a more electronic style but the band’s leader Madis Järvekülg says there are more guitar-centered tunes, but still as restless and eccentric, to be expected in near future. Eoins will release their rather eclectic full-length album in autumn.
In addition to Eoins own track, the single features a remix by an Estonian electronic musician Build Gates.
The last lack of Eoins official release so far was in 2012, when Seksound released their digital single featuring three remixes of “Sudden Death Mode”. The single was accompanied by a video:
We have excellent news!
In anticipation of the fall 2017 release of their first full-length album in almost a decade, Pia Fraus are releasing an EP entitled That’s Not All on our own little Seksound Record Label.
In 2016, Pia Fraus broke their long silence by releasing their first single in eight years entitled “Autumn Winds”. That was followed up by the split single “Cloudy Eyes” in 2017. “That’s Not All” will be the final track on their forth coming album, and marks a return for these dreampop veterans. The main track on the EP is full of meandering guitars, floating harmonized vocals, and perfectly timed pop sensibilities.
Included on the EP are a number of remixes of “That’s Not All” including from Chicago’s shoegaze wonders Airiel, Estonia’s experimental electronic artist Galaktlan, German electronic maestro Ulrich Schnauss, Estonia’s very own dreampop band Picnic, and thenorth eastern United States electronic conglomerate of Mahogany.
The That’s Not All EP will be released on May 29, 2017 in both digital and limited CD formats.
We are very happy to share good news!
First released in 2005 by Kohvirecords, Galaktlan´s second album Constance will now reissued on vinyl!
Galaktlan aka Taavi Laatsit has gathered here verbal and musical samples, synthesizer shimmerings, the precise beats and sounds of synthetic electronics but also more natural rhythm patterns and even string instruments. At times, the music blends into a haze of sound, at times forms detailed compositions with clear instrumental lines, eventually drawing a picture of a melancholic romantic magical world. Hendrik Luuk gives Galaktlan a hand in a track „Kindralmidi“ on guitar and Ramo Teder, aka Pastacas, enriches „Laanetaguse“ with his unmistakably recognizable voice. Tristan Priimägi said in his review that if electronic music is usually inspired by realism, then Galaktlan is inspired by magic. It´s baroque electronica. „Constance is an ode to the times when people could be bothered to read poems and express their love for someone“, he wrote. Galaktlan has himself said that the title of the album is inspired by the world and thinking of Alexandre Dumas, by the beautiful Constance Bonacieux from „The three musketeers“, who was loved and adored by D’Artagnan. The last track of the album „Zolushka“, on the other hand, features as the main theme the Cinderella song from the Soviet animated film version of the fairytale. Such lyrical-nostalgic atmosphere is there through all 10 tracks.
Seksound will release Pia Fraus and our long time favourite Rocketship from Portland, US split 7″ single!!! The collaborative single of the musical soulmates includes a new track from both bands, recorded specially for this release.
Seksound keeps up the brilliant work of rereleasing indie pearls from the past – this time it’s the cult band Bizarre and their debut album from 1994.
Dream-pop band Bizarre released altogether two albums during their existence – Beautica (1994) and Café De Flor (1996). The latter was re-released by Seksound early in 2015.
Beautica’s reverb-drowned guitars and barely audible vocals once set the stage for Estonian indie scene, also paving way for Pia Fraus’ entrance a few years later. Back in the day, Bizarre used to offer poetic-astral alternative to the more punkish Röövel Ööbik but there is definitely more to Beautica than just dream painting. The noisy side of shoegazing may also be spotted.
These 7 tracks on the original cassette 22 years ago mark an important point in the Estonian alternative pop music tradition. It’s a historical document representing a brave contact with worldwide atmospheric music trends.
The official release of the LP is February 15th!
Pia Fraus ends their 8-years halt with an autumn single
After eight years of silence, the Tallinn shoegazers Pia Fraus return with a brand new single giving a taster of the album to be out next year. The band’s new single “Autumn Winds” is released by their home label Seksound. The track is a a concentrate of yearning for autumn, rains ja wind, so everything is still great. The noisy startoff drifts into dreamy verse and then to higher reaching glittering chorus – that’s Pia Fraus as they are loved.
“Autumn winds” is written by Rein Fuks, mixed and mastered by a renowned pilot in the analogue-skies – Lauri Liivak. The single’s sleeve features a photo by indie scene’s grand old man and camera talent Tauno Pääslane, and its all brought brilliantly together by Seksound’s favourite designer and artist Kaarel Vahtramäe.
In addition to the original track, the single presents two remixes: from Pia Fraus’ drummer’s soloproject Wolfredt and an old friend of dreampop fans – Picnic. “Autumn Winds” will be digitally available through all the channels we’re used to – Spotify, Youtube, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, etc. In Scandinavia and the Baltics, the single is brought to you by Playground Music, in the US and the rest of the world by Darla Records. Autumn Winds CD is hand numbered and limited to 250 copies!
Pia Fraus drummers teamed up!
Joosep Volk has made a gorgeous video for Wolfredt song Night Has Eyes. Check it out!
The former drummer of Dreamphish and Pia Fraus, current member in Jan Helsing, Margus Voolpriit has released his second solo album “Neverno”.
Neverno lays on the table nine outstanding instrumentals. The carefully measured tracks roll out step by step, further and higher. The “higher” dimension holds true also for track titles, half of them reaching towards the sky. This aim becomes complete with the album’s sleeve design.
In comparison with Wolfredt’s debut LP “Lullabies to Vilhelmine” from three years ago, this album is more organic, there are more live drums, indie-electronic wandering is kept on course with straight post-rock riffs. It might remind you of the overseas post-rock scene – Explosions in the Sky, for example, also heading for higher spheres.
Wolfredt’s storytelling composition leads the listener through dreamy ballades to repetitive patterns of guitar chaos and all the way back and forth again. Safe and easy listening alternates with rather coarse dynamic expressions.
Even though the texture of the tracks lets you think of the album as a collaboration of band members, Wolfredt has remained a solo producer and song writer. Only his own voice remains unheard. Or, almost so.
