Record label Seksound reissues Pia Fraus’ 2001 debut album, Wonder What it’s Like
(WWIL). WWIL was the first musical product of the beloved Estonian shoegazers. It was released with a pop-up label Pia Records as a limited CD-r in 150 copies.
The album shows the  beginnings of 18-year-old Pias’ musical aims and preferences.
The aesthetics were at the time maybe limited by technical possibilities but these limitations could not fully smother the constant and discreetly controlled beauty of the
band’s music.
The album takes off with youthful energy and it is the held-back vocals that offer a glimpse into Pia Fraus future sound. There are surely more rough corners and unpolished
surfaces, and lo-fi noise than the current Pia Fraus fans have come to like and expect.
The band’s search for their personality is obvious here. In addition to the tracks from the original release, the album contains four remixes from Galaktlan, Njuu, Snafu, and Lobsand Dorje.WWIL was recorded by Hendrik Luuk and Lauri Liivak at Forwards studio in Tartu and by Alo Jaanivald at Orbital Vox in Tallinn.
Wonder What It’s Like vinyl is hand numbered and limited to 444 copies Worldwide!
